Music Processing Suite 1.17.0 was released on March 13, 2026.
Important note: since version 1.16.0, MPS requires at least Java 21 to run. It is recommended to download a Java 21 JDK for your operating system from Zulu.
New Features and Enhancements:
- Updated Eclipse base platform to version 2026-03
- A new analysis feature called Rhythmic Density is available. It analyzes how many note onsets occur during the duration of a quarter note throughout a piece.
- Documentation was updated regarding the usage and installation of Java 21
